Set sail together
2–6 seats, one connected phone per person. Create a room and invite friends by QR or room code. Ready up to start; simple computer players are available. Island Ramble has 28 spaces for a recommended 2–4 players; Ocean Islands has 40 spaces for 4–6, with a 120-minute default.
Buy and collect rent
Start the spinning dice, then tap to stop. They stop automatically after 10 seconds. Two server-generated dice move your piece, without bonus doubles turns. Buy unowned land at its listed price, borrowing the difference if you need to. Pass, and it goes to auction: everyone bids on their phone and the highest bid wins. Pay rent automatically on another player’s unmortgaged property. The small map starts with 1,800 coins and pays 220 on passing Departure; the large map starts with 2,400 and pays 300. Passing Departure also grants a card, up to four cards.
Build and trade
Upgrade a property up to three times. Owning all three unmortgaged properties of a color doubles their rent. After moving, manage your properties, propose a cash-and-property trade, or put one of your properties (with its buildings and mortgage) up for auction. Both players must agree to a trade; offers expire after 30 seconds. Route cards select a destination 2–12 spaces ahead directly on the board. Rent passes are played before rolling; building permits upgrade one of your unmortgaged properties after moving.
Bank and loans
Anyone can borrow from the island bank at any time. Credit is half the value of your unmortgaged land and buildings, at least 400 on the small map and 600 on the large one, so even a player with nothing can raise a little. Interest is due each time you pass Departure, after your salary: 5% the first time, 2 points more each time, up to 20%, resetting once the loan is fully repaid — the longer you wait, the more it costs. Players can also lend to each other at an agreed amount and rate per lap; the borrower pays the lender each time they pass Departure and may repay early. Or start a loan auction: others bid rates, the lowest lends the full amount, and with no bids there is no loan.
Mortgages and shortfalls
Sell buildings for half their cost. Mortgage an unbuilt property for half its price; it collects no rent. Redeem it for 55% of the price. Negative cash must be resolved: borrow, mortgage, sell buildings, auction land or borrow from a player — or resolve it automatically. Auto-resolution goes from the lowest cost up: bank credit, mortgages on empty land, then building upgrades sold at half cost, stopping once cash is no longer negative; ownership stays yours. If still short, the bank grants emergency relief with a 25% fee and no interest. Preview the plan first and reopen the receipt on your phone afterward.
Choose your game length
The small map defaults to 60 minutes, the large map to 120. Choose 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes. Each turn has 3 minutes, and the turn clock waits during auctions. Running over costs 50 coins at once and 50 more every 60 seconds; with the third fine the game rolls for you, buys nothing, resolves any debt and ends the turn — no host decision needed. Once dice start spinning, they stop within 10 seconds even when paused or disconnected. At the time limit, the current round is completed and the game waits for the host: settle now, or add 15, 30 or 60 minutes and decide again when that runs out. Rank net worth: cash + land prices + building costs − mortgage loans − bank loans and relief + money lent − money borrowed. Tied leaders share the win. Phones and the display show a victory ceremony and leaderboard with preserved final scores. Share a results card through your phone’s share sheet, a social link or a saved image; neither the card nor the text includes the room code.
An optional shared display
The host chooses “Shared display” in the room menu to create a separate display link and code. Open it on a TV or computer browser: the 3D island fills the window, with turn, player and space details floating over the scene and no page scrolling, and the lobby shows a QR code for joining. Use the fullscreen button or press F to hide browser chrome, and Esc to leave; players on a computer can go fullscreen from the view controls or the room menu too. Phones still roll, buy and hold private cards. Connecting a display switches phones to personal controls by default; show the board any time, manual choices persist, and a disconnect notice offers the full phone board. Without a display, every phone shows the whole island and can play a complete game. Drag, zoom, rotate and locate pieces on the 3D island; numbers always face the screen. Tap a number for details, or open “Spaces & prices” in the room menu to find every space. “Graphics & motion” offers Automatic, Fine and Energy saver, with moving water, waves, a windmill and boats. Saver, reduced motion, pause and a folded board stop ambient animation. Switch to the lighter 2D board at any time. The display uses no seat, has no game controls, and never receives unused cards. HDMI or your system’s screen mirroring can show this browser window.
Reconnect and pause
Pause automatically when the current human disconnects, or all humans disconnect during a computer turn. Offers and auctions also pause while the player they wait for is offline. Reconnect to continue. The host can pause, skip an offline player (declining an offer or passing an auction for them), or settle early, and decides whether to settle or play on when time is up. Closing the display does not affect phone play. Switch devices by generating a private one-time transfer code or link on the original device. Take over the same seat with all assets, cards and progress; the old device signs out. Codes expire in 10 minutes. If the original device is gone, join the same room with the same nickname to take back the seat while it is offline; a seat that is still online cannot be taken.
Free play and privacy
Island coins are session-only: no purchase, transfer service, redemption or prizes. No payments. Sound effects and upbeat background music are on by default and start after your first tap. Sound, in the room menu, switches each off, sets the volume and picks a track. Sound plays only on this device, muting when the game is paused or the page is hidden. Effects are synthesized. The music is CC0 public-domain tracks from OpenGameArt, served by this site, with no music-service requests. Your browser stores sound preferences and its reconnect credential. Rooms expire after 24 idle hours, or when the last human leaves from the lobby or results.
