Sunbay Atlas · How to play

01

Extend the map

Take turns clockwise with 44 tiles plus a starting tile. Rotate the tile and match every touching edge, town to town, trail to trail and meadow to meadow. At least one side must touch. A tile with no legal placement is discarded.

02

Send a surveyor?

Each player starts with six surveyors. Assign one to the new tile or keep them all. The entire connected feature must be unoccupied. Trails end at stations. Compass labels rotate with the tile.

03

Towns and trails

A sealed town earns 2 per tile. A trail with no open ends earns 1 per tile, including loops. Count a tile only once per feature. Surveyors return when their feature is complete.

04

Beacons and orchards

Surround a beacon on all eight sides to earn 9. Orchards connect through grass, separated by trails and towns. Each distinct finished town touching an orchard is worth 3 at game end. Orchard surveyors stay until then.

05

Mergers and final scoring

Separate features may merge. The player with the most surveyors on a feature earns its full value. Tied players each earn the full amount. When the deck ends, unfinished towns and trails score 1 per tile, beacons score 1 plus occupied neighbors. Highest total wins, ties share victory.
