3.2 目标文件是什么样的
我们大概能猜到，目标文件中的内容至少有编译后的机器指令代码、数据。没错，除了这些内容以外，目标文件中还包括了链接时所须要的一些信息，比如符号表、调试信息、字符串等。一般目标文件将这些信息按不同的属性，以“节”（Section）的形式存储，有时候也叫“段”（Segment），在一般情况下，它们都表示一个一定长度的区域，基本上不加以区别，唯一的区别是在 ELF 的链接视图和装载视图的时候，后面会专门提到。在本书中，默认情况下统一将它们称为“段”。
程序源代码编译后的机器指令经常被放在代码段（Code Section）里，代码段常见的名字有“.code”或“.text”；全局变量和局部静态变量数据经常放在数据段（Data Section），数据段的一般名字都叫“.data”。让我们来看一个简单的程序被编译成目标文件后的结构，如图 3-1 所示。

Legible distorted text can be recovered in samples like this. Low resolution, occlusion and closely spaced blanks can still cause errors. Check the number of blanks carefully. Precise blanks adds processing time and usage.

a few things to know.
Can images be kept from a fully scanned PDF?
Yes. AI reads text from the scanned page and chooses useful illustrations in context, then crops them from the original. Preserve interfaces suits interface screenshots; Text first suits text-heavy handouts and tests.
Can I convert a watermarked PDF?
You can try it. Conversion omits watermarks, recurring headers and footers, printed page numbers and decorative backgrounds. Meaningful titles, captions, sources and statements are kept. Content fully hidden by a watermark cannot be reliably recovered.
When should I enable Precise blanks?
Enable it in scan mode for tests with missing letters, small blanks or distorted text. It gives these details extra attention, but you should still check the blank counts and results. Processing time and cost may increase.
Is US$0.02 the maximum price per page?
It is a budget guide for ordinary pages. Each page is billed by actual usage, and complex pages may cost more. US$0.02 is temporarily held for each page being processed and settled when costs are confirmed. This hold is not a price cap either.
How long are files kept?
Free jobs are kept for 24 hours after upload, whether you are signed in or not. The source and results are deleted at expiry. AI documents are not subject to this limit. Each account has 1 GiB of storage, and you can download or delete your jobs at any time.
What if a conversion fails or my balance runs low?
Saved pages remain available to view and download. You can resume unfinished pages or redo one page. Actual model usage is billed, including failed requests. Further processing pauses when your balance is too low. For service failures and refunds, see our Refund policy。
